imagining how the church can reorient around mission

Homelessman

You are the God of holiness

You are the God of Justice

You are the God of love

In your holiness you teach that you value purity…pure
hearts, pure dreams and pure hands

In your justice you teach us to hold up what is right and
fair and impartial

In your love you teach us to give, to sacrifice, and to act.

In my self, I often do not crave to be holy,
just as you are holy,

I do not always seek after your
Kingdom or your justice on earth as it is in heaven,

I simply don’t naturally want to
give or sacrifice or surrender.

These all work out much better in conversations, or in
“talks.”  They work out much better
in and through others…not through me, not close to where I live.

But you, in the holy, righteous, and loving Jesus…

came with purity, irresistibly
drawing people to the real purity

with what is right and fair freeing
people from being held and exploited

and with holy sacrifice done over
and over for us…for me.

Help me follow, as if I believed, the true one, Jesus into
the world.  Amen
