imagining how the church can reorient around mission

I have known Mary DeMuth for some time now, as she and her husband Patrick were missionaries in France with the organization I led – Communitas International, formerly Christian Associates. She is a prolific writer, mentor and nationally sought after speaker. She asked if I would spend a bit of time talking about the transitions I’ve had going from a local church leader to the CEO of an international mission and then back to the local church as a planter. I unpacked some of the micro-conversions I have had from inside of the faith. It was a blast to chat with her.

Please let me know what you think about it!

  1. Rob, I loved your talk! It was exciting for me to hear about your history (story) after you left Wenatchee. And I did get what you said about your experience there even though you didn’t mention the name of the town in your talk. It was a heart breaking time for me as well. I have always been interested in how your lives progressed after you left there. I’m happy to reconnect through FB! I see many similarities between your search and my search through the years. Wish we could sit down and have a real talk! Thanks for sharing! It was a fascinating story!

    1. I would love to sit down and chat, Ann. You were one of the true graces for Robi and I while we were there. I hope it didn’t sound like I was blaming anyone in Wenatchee. Most of what I went through was from my youthful hubris. It was an important breaking.
