imagining how the church can reorient around mission

I thought this was an interesting piece entitled, “Essential theology books of the past 25 years,” from The Christian Century.

If you were to give your top 3-5 theological books, what would they be?  Take a look at the ones suggested here and then share your top ones!

What time is your class? I will be free in the morning and would love to grab coffee if you have time

Thanks Andrew. BTW – I will be on your campus on the 21st teaching in a D.Min class on church planting.

This was a really good article.
    Top 5:
“Orthodox and Modern” by Bruce L. McCormack
An extremely important work for Barth interpretation and future Trinitarian doctrine
“Systematic Theology, 2 Vol.” by Robert W. Jenson
A great systematic theology, and the first major one put out by an American in a long time.
“Being as Communion” by John Zizioulas
Although I haven’t read through all of this and it is a couple years outside of 10 years, this is a major contribution to theology from an Eastern Orthodox Theologian
“Reformed Dogmatics, 4 vols.” by Herman Bavinck
This was a much needed translation, and boy is it good. Bavinck’s introduction to dogmatics, vol.1, is reason enough to buy it.
“Christian Origins and the Question of God series” by N.T. Wright
This is simply superb historical, biblical, and theological work.
