After hearing a talk on Nehemiah 12
You are pure, holy, unblemished in everyway
Clean, evident and complete.
The one blemish is mine,
Etched on your heart,
Stained with hot tears,
whole in act, the finished work.
But,
I see different, blurred by
impurity, driven by self…
I loop back to the trouble and
hardship and sin,
that has been my dark compass for
life.
I look and hope and strive, but rarely live it – pure in actuality,
in authenticity.
But you say…
blessed are the pure in heart
that I am untainted and unsoiled even as you are
Your fire burns everything that is harsh
or hurtful or discordant
I am immersed and washed and white
as snow…astonished
Even though I have impurity, You became
it for me
So I could be, straightened, with eyes raised up, pure…
Yeah Cathy. I totally appreciate Kevin’s heart. He is both articulate and thoughtful. By the way, thanks for stopping in to my blog.
Love this, Rob. I missed that sermon on Sunday… think maybe I need to go give it a listen online…
